It is imperative that agencies conduct a detailed review of every incident which involves any possible use of force or show of force. The media only releases videos which they feel will draw the attention of viewers and increase their views and ratings. Learning to conduct a thorough and detailed analysis of a use of force incident is imperative. A proper use of force review is the first level of liability protection for agencies and staff.
This training session is designed for law enforcement and corrections professionals who are responsible for conducting reviews of use of force incidents. It is also beneficial for supervisors and staff to attend this training as it gives them a better understanding of the need for and benefit of Use of Force Reviews.
